A notary website does not have to start with a $300–800 build bill. ShipAxiom's Starter plan is $29 per month with $0 setup: a person builds the website for you, and hosting is included. Twelve months of the base service costs $348. Domain registration, business email and optional extras are separate.

That does not make every other quote overpriced. It means you have more than one way to buy a website—and you should compare the scope, total cost and work you are expected to do.

Disclosure: I own ShipAxiom. Prices below were checked September 28, 2026. This comparison covers published offers, not independent tests of the providers.

Three ways to pay for a notary website

Approach Example price What you are buying
AI website builder Zarla Premium states $29 month-to-month; lower rates require prepayment Software for generating and managing your site
Done-for-you subscription with no setup fee ShipAxiom Starter: $29/month, $0 setup A human-built, hosted single page with up to four sections
Done-for-you build fee plus monthly service National Notary Websites Launch: $399 setup + $39.99/month, plus processing A custom-built, hosted five-page package

The prices and descriptions come from Zarla's pricing page, ShipAxiom's plans and National Notary Websites. These are different packages. A one-page site and a five-page site are not interchangeable just because both say “notary website.”

If your budget conversation has been framed as “pay $300–800 for someone to do it, or build it yourself,” a monthly service gives you another option. You can have someone do the build without paying a separate setup fee.

Look beyond the launch-day number

Here is the arithmetic for ShipAxiom's three month-to-month plans:

Plan Included pages Setup 12 months of base service
Starter 1, up to 4 sections $0 $348
Plus 3 $0 $708
Pro 5 $0 $1,188

The National Notary Websites offer above totals $878.88 for setup plus twelve monthly payments, before processing. That is more than ShipAxiom Starter, but less than ShipAxiom Pro's five-page annual service total. Page count alone also misses differences in email, updates, booking and support. Choose based on the actual work included, not a selective price comparison.

A useful quote spells out what happens after launch. Does someone update a service description? Connect an existing scheduler? Help when your hours change? Are those tasks included or billed separately?

What a small notary site needs first

Start with the questions a prospective customer needs answered before contacting you:

  • Which services do you actually provide: general notarization, mobile appointments, loan signings or other authorized services?
  • Where do you travel, and is there a real walk-in location?
  • How does someone request availability or a quote?
  • What should they know about appointment preparation and the fees you disclose?

A focused single page can cover services, service area, business information and contact. Separate pages make more sense when distinct services need substantial explanations. Your website should reflect your actual credentials and permitted services; it should not manufacture an office, certification or remote-notarization capability.

What ShipAxiom does—and what costs extra

Every base plan includes mobile-friendly design, hosting, HTTPS, a contact form and basic on-page SEO. You supply accurate business details and photos; I build the site and send a preview for the included revision round. Typical launch is one to two weeks after content and scope are agreed.

Starter content updates and booking connection are optional extras. Plus and Pro include 15 minutes of content updates per month. Pro also connects an existing booking tool and includes review-link, QR-code and testimonial-layout tools. A paid booking subscription, domain or business email is separate. These are practical scope limits, not promises of unlimited work.

You can see the real Premier Signing Services project. Its bilingual service navigation illustrates how a site can explain a document-service business. Premier is a custom project; its full functionality is not a promise of what a $29 plan includes.

What happens if you cancel?

With ShipAxiom Month by month, there is no minimum term. The hosted site stays active through the paid period and then goes offline. Your domain and supplied content stay yours; the website build does not transfer under the subscription. A separate Build to own option is available. Read the ownership details.

The right budget is the one that buys the scope you need and leaves you comfortable with the ongoing arrangement.
